13 month old pooing in night

For the past month or so my DS has been pooing in the night. I check him before I go to be and if ever he wakes me in the night & it seems he is doing it before he wakes - which is typically about 5am.
He is on toddler formula as when I tried him a few times on cows milk it really upset his tummy and i've tried giving him less at bedtime and watering it down more but he still poops and also wakes hungry when I do this.
He has had a sore bum for a couple of months too & so I get up and change him as soon as he wakes but then he won't go back to sleep. I am also 12 weeks preg with 2nd and shattered so would love an extra hour in bed in the morning plus would like to get to grips with this to see if it eases his nappy ras too. I wonder if anyone hs any ideas how i can stop him doing this? most people i've asked have said their little ones don't poo in the night and haven't done since weaning - so I am a bit stuck..... For the record he is also pooping a couple of times in the day too, so this one is not the only one of the day.

I don't think there is too much you can do. I would put sudocrem on his bum and see how it goes. I wouldn't water down his feed though.

When does he have his main meal (lunchtime or teatime?) - if he's eating a lot in the evening (especially lots of fruit/veg) that might be contributing. My DS is the same age and was doing this about a month ago, it lasted a few weeks but then stopped abruptly (luckily as it gave him a very sore bottom too!), so hopefully your DS will grow out of it.
