my ds who is nearly four has started to have major all out tantrums in public, kicking, screaming etc, it has got worse since his baby brother was born 4 months ago, but he is usually such a bright and chatty boy, speaks like a little adult and counts to 25, it scares me when he loses it, cos he is such a big boy i worry about being able to control him.

he doesnt seem to do it for his dad as much, mainly me, and its very upsetting and I worry that its not normal and I should see someone about it, but 85% of the time he is fine?? any ideas??? :(

Very likely to be a reaction to the baby brother. That is a MASSIVE change in his little life.

My own 4yo occasionally tantrums and it is always because she is too tired or too hungry.

What do you do when he tantrums?

And if you are sure it is not tiredness or hunger, have you read How to talk?
