10 month old waking every two hours distressed crying but not fully awake

Posting for my SIL, this pattern has recently emerged with baby boy waking very distressed every two hours crying and crying, SIL is quite sure that baby is not really awake at the time.

My brother had night terrors at this kind of age, could it be something similar?

She is at her wits end to know how to manage it.

Any thoughts? TIA

Does he have sugar in the day? Or watch a lot of tv? That can sometimes result in night terrors.

Is that not a bit young for nightterrors? Not sure...

I'd say: teething, nightmares, teething, sore ear/throat/tummy, teething or... ahem, teething. Yep, my money is on teething.

Or one of those developmental steps, you know, just before they can sit/crawl/walk and it drives them nuts with frustration. Often leads to rubbish nights.

Thank you for the feedback. He doesn't have any sugar or watch any TV. I think teething is possible yes. He isn't poorly. The last comment is interesting I will pass this on.
