My baby is ten months old (born four weeks early) and has recently learnt to roll from her front to her back. Now she won't spend any time on her tummy therfore is showing no interest in crawling any tips?

Maybe she's going to be a bum-shuffler? They all find ways of getting round, one way up or the other. Usually when you didn't expect it and left something lying which you were sure was out of reach....

Crawling is apparently dying out to some extent in western societies. Due to the back to sleep campaign meaning that our babies now sleep on their backs. No idea if its true, but it was my lecturer in developmental psychology that told me at uni.

DS1 always hated tummy time and never crawled - just cruised and the walked at 12 mo. Some babies never crawl, tis normal, the main thing is she can turn onto her tummy if she wants to.

DS didn't enjoy tummy time either and refused point blank to crawl until he could walk! he was cruising around his playpen by about 8m, and walked at 11mo - then started crawling a month or so later.Hmm.

I did take him to Gymbabes (smaller version of Tumbletots) when he was 9mo because of his refusal to crawl - don't think it made any difference but when he got the hang of walking, he decided he wanted to crawl through the crawl tubes, which he'd never done before.

Both mine were Bum shufflers, they never crawled.
Neither liked being on their tummies either.
They too pulled themselves up, cruised, then walked.
