Without holding on to anything. How many months?

Embarrassed to say I can't remember very clearly, but DS1 was probably well over one, and DS2 just under one.

Why?

KittyFoyle · 07/10/2010 16:41

All of them at 5-6 months. Just standing, needed to hold on to move about until 11 months (DS and DD1 and 10 months (DD2) when they were off and walking.

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 07/10/2010 16:42

DS2 has literally just done it this weekend and he's 11 1/2 mths.

ShowOfHands · 07/10/2010 16:42

7 months.

KittyFoyle · 07/10/2010 16:44

My niece was over 1 and they all run about like maniacs together now. They'll all speed up soon enough.

ttalloo · 07/10/2010 16:45

It's thrilling when they do stand up unassisted for the first time, isn't it! Mine both started pulling themselves up in their cots from about 9 months, but when they finally did it in the middle of the room with nothing to hold on to my heart was in my mouth and I was dialling DH on my mobile with excitement.

RunningOutOfIdeas · 07/10/2010 16:47

DD was about 10 months. She learnt to stand up from being on hands and feet in the middle of the room. Strangely, she learnt to do this several weeks before she started cruising around the furniture. She would stand in the middle of the room, be really pleased with herself, and then fall over.

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 07/10/2010 16:53

ttalloo, I agree Grin! I came into the room on Saturday and saw DS2 stood up by the sofa and thought nothing of it - then I noticed he wasn't holding on!! Grin

He looks soooo pleased with himself when he does it, too cute Smile.

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2010 16:56

Forgot to ask iye did they stand unassisted or crawl first?

Not sure if he is trying to skip crawling phase.

It is cute btw Smile

Mine crawled before standing unassisted. DS2 had a very funny crawl, like a three-legged dog, with his right leg tucked under his bum.

ShowOfHands · 07/10/2010 17:08

DD was not remotely interested in crawling or anything that could be done on the floor. She wanted to stand up and preferably run asap.

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2010 17:10

Interesting. Ds2 much prefers to be upright too. Did your dd skip the crawling stage SoH?

OP posts:
UnderNeilTennantsOrders · 07/10/2010 17:29

Sort of yes. She did crawl but much later and only to get under things or pretend to be some sort of animal. So she probably could and would have done it in sequence but chose not to. She stood up, cruised and walked before a year and in quick succession. She never, ever liked lying down or tummy time or anything that wasn't being upright.

Am SoH btw, messing about on another thread.

electra · 07/10/2010 17:31

dd1 - 13 months
dd2 - 9 months
dd3 - 16 months

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 07/10/2010 19:30

Crawling from 5 1/2 mths, standing from 7 mths and then standing unassisted from 11 1/2 months.

MarshaBrady · 07/10/2010 21:31

Ok looks like ds is early to average on the standing thing. But very late with crawling. Maybe he will miss it.

withorwithoutyou · 07/10/2010 21:33

My DD1 crawled at 11.5 months, pulled up at 12.5 months, stood at 13 months, walked a couple of weeks later.

Remotew · 07/10/2010 21:38

Long time ago but DD crawled at 10mths, stood without holding on just before walking at 14mths. Had been stood holding a finger, chair leg for a couple of months before walking.

AlpinePony · 08/10/2010 07:49

Showofhands -that's reassuring to read. Mine too has no interest in what's going on at floor level and turns puce with rage when placed on his tummy. His eyes follow the dogs so I'm hoping he'll just leap to his feet so he can chase them around pulling their tails.

lal123 · 08/10/2010 07:55

DD2 will be one next week - she's crawling well at the moment, pulling herself up and cruising round the furniture - still not standing unassisted

cupcake75 · 08/10/2010 08:11

Pulling herself up on everything by 7.5 months. Standing on her own 12 months. Think she had some confidence issues.

TheUnmentioned · 08/10/2010 08:23

8 months
