6mth old dropped dream feed now 5am waking

My DS is 6mth tomorrow and has been sleeping from 7pm with a 10.30 dream feed till around 6 or 7 am since 12 weeks, yay.

However, he dropped his dream feed about 2 weeks ago by refusing to take the milk and continued to sleep till around 6am when he would wake, chat and play in his cot and call for us around 7. That was until 3 nights ago when he started waking at 5am and crying pretty much instantly. We have been leaving him for the usual time he takes to self settle but not working and today had to finally feed him at 6am to get him back to sleep. (he slept till 8am).

He is well established on solids - lunch and dinner (in Portugal you start at 4mths....we just took it very slowly) and has a 7oz bottle at 7, 11, 3 and 6.45. All of these he had been reducing naturally too (but last couple of days sinking the whole bottle). He naps well, 9.30, 1.30 and 3.30 for between 45 - 60 mins.

What to do....try and get him to dreamfeed again or start an early morning feed which we haven't done since 10 weeks? Could it be another growth spurt?

He seemed starving this morning then went back to sleep till 8.00! Such a shame if this is new pattern as he spends from 7am till 8.30 having daddy time and this will be missed Sad.

Any ideas/advice please.

I should say also that today he hasn't napped well at all. At 11.30 and 4 for only 30 minutes and his feeds a bit all over 6am, 9am then 2.45 after his lunch (solids) at 1pm.
