One year old making himself sick

The title says it all really - DS has taken to sticking his fingers down his throat.
It seems like he's doing it to get a reaction out of me and finds it very amusing when I try to stop him doing it. But I can't just not react because then I end up cleaning up vomit!

Please tell me this is a phase that will pass sooner rather than later.

I would try and ignore it an if he does make himself sick literally clean it up ignoring him the whole time.

Ooh..I know you're supposed to ignore undesirable behaviour but really, I hate cleaning up sick! Especially when he's not even really ill.

Mine does this too! I thought I was the only one... Most of the time I can distract him before he actually spews, but if he's just eaten, the reaction is quicker! I found he did stop once he'd made himself sick, as I think it was a bit of a shock.

A lot of it is about reaction. He looks me right in the eye while he's doing it, and laughs when I take his hand out.

So, in general, no real advice! He does do it less than he did, if that's any comfort...

Glad I'm not alone! I think distraction is the way forward...I know if I keep reacting he'll keep doing it. He's succeeded in making himself sick a couple of times but it doesn't seem to have deterred him!
