Moving from bassinet to chair

Hi there,

I know the recommended age for moving from a bassinet of the pushchair to the pushchair seat is 6 months. However, 14 week old DS2 is 7kg and his head rubs the end of the bassinet!! He is also increasingly agitated when lying flat (his reflux perhaps?) and loves being more upright.

Has anyone moved their LO to the chair part (mine can recline in 3 positions but they are cradled rather than flat) earlier than the recommended 6 months and if so, when did you do it?

I just need reassurance that I will not be damaging the LO's back.

Many thanks

Thanks Lady it is sort of 's' shaped like a bugaboo chameleon, so flat but legs are cradled IYSWIM!?

DD went into a sitting position in the pushchair (though it was still quite recline-y) when she was about 3 months. I can't imagine how you keep a baby flat on its back for six months!

ds went in a pushchair at about 4 months because we went abroad and wanted something light weight. he loved being nosy and smiling at everyone. we did make sure it reclined flat though for when he was asleep

Both of mine outgrown the bassinet at about 2 months. I put them in the carseat (facing me rather than the pushchair) for about 2 more months.
Then straight to the pushchairs (about 4 months then) they both like looking out but both could sit unaided at that stage and wouldn't lie flat at all. DD2 even resist going flat when she is asleep.

Thanks everyone - feeling a bit better and will get the kit out at the weekend to change bassinet to seat!
