9 year old lying

My 9 year old daughter keeps telling lies, she told me 3 complete bare faced ones in 10 mins last week, we have loads of trouble with this and i am at my wits' end. She knows the difference between a lie and the truth and has been in really deep trouble before many times. Trouble is, now i feel i cannot trust her at all, which is a terrible thing to say and also every time it happens it takes me longer to get over it. Any suggestions or anyone else out there experineced this. It is eating me up.

Big lies or trivial?

My 6 year old step daughter tells lies all day, from small things to huge things. she even thinks these lies are true, she is very convincing but im woried shes going to get in trouble, she even lies about what day it is and she tells us she hasnt been to school when she has. We never know when she is telling the truth of telling a big fat lie.

it is because ds keeps lying, just as SS said; "have you washed your face " yes (lie) and he isn't responsible with this his belongings. shoes looked completely knackered after one day, hole in his new jumper on day 2.

started pasta last night, 10 pieces, he's down to 9 today as he said he'd washed his face when he hadn';t!!

i also reitereate to him thast i don't trust him and check up on things

some big some small. but boy does she stick to her guns. the gestapo would have trouble cracking her.she always apologises and then says she can't help it, a lie is the first thing that comes into her head. which i find v worrying.
