my ds who is 6 (7 end of November) has in the last couple of days turned into a monster! its actually like having a teenager in the house, he totally ignores you to the point where you are shouting at him to do something and then he just sighs and says why me? do i have to? he will find anything to do other than the thing he is supposed to do. he answers back and cries when i tell him he can't have sweets, play on the wii, that sort of thing.

to make matters worse i have just put him to bed only for him to tell me he weed on his bedroom carpet because he couldnt get to the toilet in time, which is ok accidents happen but he did it an hour ago! now the smell probably won't come out.

nothing i do seems to stop him, anyone been through this? is it a usual thing at this age and can anyone give me any help or advice

thanks

Is there a problem at school?

countydurhamlass · 01/10/2010 20:40

no, he is actually enjoying school at the moment and the teachers have reported no problems, they keep a close eye on him because he has some special educational needs but nothing that would cause the sudden change in his behaviour

Maybe not in class but if he's fallen out with his friend or made friends with a child who is a bit of a sod, perhaps?

He may just be incubating something though, or just being tired from the new term still?
