Strong-willed, spirited or difficult children/toddlers......biters/hitters/screamers...

Anyone had one and have they finally turned into a butterfly and was it in time for school?!!

I am having the same worries! My just 3 yr old will be starting school next year (August baby). Can't imagine he is going to mature so much in a year that he would have stopped all his silly behaviour!

Know the feeling... there is hope though; dd (4.5) started school three weeks ago and is utterly transformed - well behaved, polite, interested, chatty, gets herself dressed, amuses herself for long enough for me to stack the dishwasher, can stop herself before a tantrum gets off the ground.. We are astonished. Obviously I love her dearly and all that but she was an awful baby and a terrible toddler - tantrums, screaming for hours, wouldn't sleep, wouldn't eat, hit ds and us etc etc ( plus a delightful spitting and pinching stage). She had such awful tantrums right up to age 4 that she used to pee herself with rage. (Once memorably in Paperchase when DH didn't hand her the change in quite the way she wanted, and another time at the local fete when it was time to get off the bouncy castle..) Not sure why she's improved so dramatically since she started -I think perhaps some kids just do actively benefit from the routine of school. Fingers crossed it's not just a temporary fluke..!

LOL love your post barbarapym!
I have a spirited chap, he is such fun but we are going through a bitting stage and it seems the worst toddler offense Blush
not sure that would go down well in school so I hope he transforms too!
