My mad paper eating baby!!!

Help my DD (whos nearly 14 mo) has developed a mad paper eating craze. She eats any paper you leave lying around but worse than that she has started chewing her books and eating the cardboard! I was shopping last week and bought her a Buggy Book from ELC as a treat as she had been so good in her pram all day, as I was pushing her around and not looking at her she had eaten half the book in about 10 minutes!

As we are moving we have boxes piled up and she has taken to eating them as well. It's her books I'm most worried about, she loves "reading" them and I don't want to take them off her but she will ruin them and I don't want her eating loads of cardboard/paper anyway.

Tell me this is a phase and she'll grow out of it?

I'd be interested for advice about this one too. My dd 1yr is wreaking havoc on her books too. Lizzie the Lamb (attached to pushchair) is slowing being devoured on every outing. Any tips?

err, that's slowly being devoured

Same here. Been going on for several months now, and no paper is safe. She tries to take great bites out of loo rolls. I think though, that she's backing off books a bit.
