Young toddler says yes but not no, normal or weird?

My 15 month old DD says yes (yeah) in context all the time. She doesn't say the word 'no' though. She has said 'no' a few times but not for at least 2 months or so.

Her vocabulary is probably about 25-30 spoken words I think. I've not counted recently.

I've read that 'no' usually comes way before 'yes' so was wondering if anyone else had this.

The fact that she doesn't say no sadly doesn't mean she's unusually compliant. She tends to shake her head or shout instead.

Mine is younger and doesn't have words yet, but 50+ signs. She also uses 'yes' but not 'no'. We have consciously tried to restrict our use of 'no' to the genuinely dangerous, and use other words for less important things, so maybe she just hasn't picked it up yet!

I read that you can have a natural pain free labour and birth!! Yr DD will say it again no doubt. no need to worry IMO She sounds nice and lively.

Thanks. Yes have been trying to avoid no where possible. Doing that Dr Sears 'not for DD' instead of no. Though it is hard when she's doing something reckless or dangerous, instinct takes over and the no comes out.

My 20 months old DS says "yeah" to EVERYTHING, but doesn't say no. He does, however, shake his head dramatically to sign No. Makes me giggle.
