Weaning off bottles - advice please

I am in the process of getting DD off her bottles during the day (DD is 21 months old), I have tried o do this on several occasions but have given in. This weekend I took the plunge and brought 2 new beakers in the hope that it would encourage DD to be a big girl. It sort of worked on the first day (a few sips from a 360 beaker), now she is not interested at all but quite happily drinks her water and juice from a Tommee Tippee beaker. At the moment she is still having a bottle at night time.

Can anyone advise on how to encorage DD to drink her milk in a beaker during the day? I have tried the praise and the clapping but even this has failed to work.

Please help!!

My son is three and was off the bottle by the time he was age one. I used one of these

I am doing the same with my DD who is 10 months old. I just gave my son one of these, always had water available in it and he was able to grab it when he wanted, by the time he was one I just went cold turkey with the bottle and he didn't even notice. As he got older I would every now again buy a very colourful trainer cup, ask him which one he liked, he seemed to then want to drink out of a cup because he'd chosen it! My daughter is not fussed on a bottle, so I am hoping it will just be as easy with her! Good luck, I am sure you'll get some other useful tips that might suit you better.
