I don't know what to do. Picked up my ds (4) today and had to see class teacher who asked us to go and see the Head. Ds has already been last week for biting an older child. He came out with a black eye yesterday after rough play that was "6 of one and half a dozen of the other" and today has kicked a dinner lady and pulled his tongue out. Have encouraged good behaviour last week as he came out with certificates for good days. Any suggestions please?

could try a star chart of some sort?

Welcome to the crazy world of our education system. We put 4 year olds in a class of 30+ and ask them to conform, sit nicely, listen and do what you are told. Put there hand up, don't talk when the teacher is speaking and do this for 6 hours. Then we put them in a playground with 100 other little ones who are excited, tired and missing mummy and expect them all to play nicely together just like little adults ... MADNESS Angry Rant over .... star chart is a good idea to tame your wild animal Wink Funny though, cos I bet you never needed one before now Hmm

My dd was like this when she started last year. She was great at home, no problems at all, then the 2nd week she bit one of the older boys and I had a note from the head.

She settled in really well in the end, just a bumpy start.

If this behavior is out of character then he is probably just settling in.
