hey :)

iv wrote alot of messages on there asking why my 8month old ds wont stop crying. i no my last post, everyone kept telling me to take him to the doctors as they thought it was lactose intolerance.

iv said in previous posts which i didnt say in the last post that ds is happy around others, like my friends and my parents or when hes out, he doesnt cry or nothing, which is why i was so defensive when people kept saying he had lactose intolerance.

anyway yesterday ds was so bad, he cried none stop for 16hours.

dh took our ds to the doctors today and wasnt going to get fobbed off, we wanted something done. the docs did alot of tests on him (eyes, ears, mouth, stomach, kidneys, liver, heart etc) he said its not tooth ache, colic, reflux or lactose intolerance and there is nothing medically wrong with him, now the docs think its a behavoural problem. they want us to go to the health drop in thing to the health visitor see if she can figure out whats up with him, if we're not happy with what she says or she fobs us off, the doc said take him back to him and he'll refere him to the hospital for more indepth tests.

i just want to find out whats wrong with my son, his behaviour isnt normal, its not normal to cry 16hours a day

Hi michelle, it's been a while since mine were 8 months old, but reading your post I have to ask if he is screaming for 16 hours a day, when does he sleep? Does he have a good sleep routine? Is he SOOO tired that he doesn't know what to do with himself? Just a thought, I'm probably barking up the wrong tree.

he sleeps from 9pm until 7/8am and has a few 1hour to 90min naps aday, i no hes not tired.

Glad the dr has checked him over. (Not sure how he screamed for 16 hours though if he sleeps for 10-11 hours and has a few 1hr naps a day that only leaves 10 hours...)

My DD gets bored silly if we're home all day - I used to take her out and about just to keep her occupied from a very young age otherwise she'd yell. She was also a screamer - from 9 weeks, when she came home from SCBU until about 7 months she would scream pretty much all the time - unless we were out.

Now, at 17 months, she's one of the most placid, gorgeous children ever (I know, I'm biased!) Granted, she's a bit clingy, but as long as I'm nearby, she's just so cute and happy, it's amazing to think back about so many months of screaming.

I guess I'm saying, if taking him out helps, then take him out. It gives you sanity, and at least if he's screaming, you're out and about and it somehow feels less personal!
