How much day sleep does your 6/7 month old have?

My second child is almost 7 months and really fights day sleep. My first child slept (still does) for hours in the day and I am not used to this situation at all!!

I think part of the issue is that being 2nd born we are on the go with our eldest and this means lots of falling asleep in the pushchair and car seat. How do you get a second born into a routine?

When I know DC2 is so tired I have to rock, bounce, cuddle them to sleep and I am luckly if them sleep for a 40 mins in the morning and 40 mins in the afternoon.

DD is 6 months, right now she's having a nap (been asleep for about 45mins...just waking up) but will have another nap at about 2 (20 mins or so) and then maybe fight off sleeping at about 4pm and then go to bed at 7. She won't just drop off by herself though and needs to be cuddled to sleep.

ds, 7m, mostly needs cuddleing or feeding to sleep at night. But during the day his buggy is the best bet (while i walk dog so have to go out any way). I park him outside the door so as not to wake him (which he does even if i just wheel the buggy inside, grr!) while i potter in the kitchen. If i'm lucky he'll sleep for fourty mins. Sometimes he goes longer, but more often less than this. We do this once in the morning and at least once in the afternoon.

At might he wakes for a couple of feeds but we co-sleep and are normaly back asleep in fifteen mins max.
