My DD is nearly 2 so entering terrible 2's phase e.g wont eat, wont let me brush her teeth/wash her hair, wont lay down to change her nappy etc etc. What I am beginning to discover is that she is only like this with ME! She is an angel for her grandparents and her dad WHY ME?? Anyone else have this problem?

I do. The answer is because you are her mother and the most important thing in her world. Toddlers save the best tantrums for mum and are angelic with other people. It is all to do with attention and wanting to spend more time with you. Don't worry, though, it passes eventually - at least, they become more willing and less tantrumy, but still manage to save the best for you.

My theory is that they know they're safe with mum! No amount of tantruming will push you away, will it?! But Dads, because they are rarely there during the week (usually!) and especially grandparents, are different.

My DS1 used to throw the most almighty tantrums from 18 months, but on his 2 days at nursery NEVER raised his voice, or even got tetchy. I think the staff thought I was a bit looney when I said we would have been there earlier except that he'd had a tantrum as we were leaving!!! 'But he's such a placid child!!!' HmmGrin

no idea foxy but my DS is like this too. If anybody else is around then he won't let me near him Hmm

He's well into the 'no' stage and is just discovering the word why... joy.
