Very negative 3 yr old

I am a bit taken aback my just turned 3 yr old boy, and wanted to know if anyone's child does this. He is so negative, for example I will ask him if he wants to go to the park and he will say "no, I hate the park". (I hate (:0) that word but he has obviously picked it up from his older sibling or me! He calls everything stupid - even things I know he likes!! I am ignoring it at the moment, but it doesn't sound nice and I don't know why he talks like that! I try to stay cheerful, but it's very draining!

It's just a phase and he's probably copying. Let it go, it'll be something else next week! Try laughing out loud - he won't like that - and it might stop sooner.

Oh, attitude - my 3 1/2 year old is full of attitude. Our reward chart is treated with 'well i don't want X anyway', but when he collects enough stickers he is still very excited to get that treat!!! They're just exerting their independence. Perhaps give him a choice of 2 or 3 activities, if he doesn't make a decision then say 'ok, you haven't made a decision, I'll make it'. Do it a few times and then hopefully he'll start to join in and and will choose (and enjoy) activities.
