Sudden bath phobia

My 21 month ds has taken a dislike to having a bath since we returned from holiday 2 weeks ago. He has been a an absolute waterbaby since birth, loving bathtime and swimming in equal measures.
He is still quite happy to swim but refuses to get in the bath, both dh and I are at a complete loss to why this might be.
Has any one else had a similar experience??
Any advice on what to may help to change his mind??

My dd did this at exactly the same age, when we returned from holiday. I think she got something like a bit of plaster caught on her foot in the bath one day and it went from there. It lasted for weeks, absolute terror if she even saw water in the bath. I just washed her from the sink for a while, but gradually started to entice her with new bath toys and eventually she went back in one day and it was like the last few weeks had never happened! Dont worry and dont push him and he'll be back to loving baths again eventually!

Thanks mammamia, it's reassuring to hear that this might not last for ever. I like the bath toy idea, I'll definitely give it a try.
