Should I be worried about my suddenly clingy 6yo?

Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts on my 6yo dd, she has always been a very independent child, like her sister she started day care, nursery and school without so much as a backwards glance to either her dad or me, she visits a variety of relatives with and without us and spends time at her friends houses, then approx 2 weeks into the summer hols she starts to become quite clingy and this has increased over the last 5 weeks and now she cries her heart out if I leave her to go to work and when I take her to school, I could understand it if she had previously been clingy and I wouldn't be worried but it has come out of no where.

Hi, something may have happened to produce a change? hopefully nothing more than fear perhaps born out of tv or story read. At the right time and in the right manor you could try asking her if there's any reason she's felt uneasy at being seperated? Bear in mind it's natural to want to be with parent for child and they can just need to feel loved at times from your presence and attention to them. Hope this helps

Hi, thank you for your help Smile I have tried asking her and she just says she misses me, so I am just hoping it is as simple as that,
