Hello, I have a 7 Month old boy who is my first and i would really like some advice :-)
He has been sitting up since he was just over 4 months but has only rolled over 3 times and hates being on his front. He can pull himself up and absolutely loves standing. Should i be concerned that he doesn't roll over or has not started crawling yet? Also he hasnt started trying to talk at all. I talk to him all day long and say the usual "babababa, dadadadada, mamamamama"! But he just laughs and really doesnt try at all?? I know his hearing is fine as he turns when i call his name and responds to all sounds. Please your advice is very much appreciated as i would like to know if i should be worrying! Thank you :-)

Natie, I wouldn't be concerned he is still very little. He may make some sounds but he won't speak for quite a while yet.
My DS who is now 2.8 never liked being on his front and would cry if you tried to put him on it and also liked to stand a lot.
When he was able to sit up properly he never crawled but did a bum shuffle around. He did this for quite a while and didn't walk until he was 1.4 as he could use his hands while he was doing the bum shuffle.

Try and relax and accept he'll learn at a different pace to your friends children.

and relax!

I have a 7month old girl (my first). Has only just started sitting but has been rolling over since 4months. I reckon they can only learn one thing at a time. My DD "swims" on the spot a lot but doesn't really get anywhere. She babbles a bit- bababababa etc but only started doing that in last week or so. She can't pull herself up but also loves standing. My DD is checked regularly by neurodevelopment teams as there was some oxygen starvation at birth and they are really really happy with her progress and everything she does is entirely normal for her age, and since your DS is pretty much same age and stage then honestly I don't think you have anything to worry about at all.

7months is still fairly early for crawling and talking.

You could maybe worry at 1ish if he hasn't developed anything new.

Hi, my nine month old doesn't roll either. Well, she did at about 4 months and now refuses. Only started to be OK on her tummy recently - would just shout and scream before. She has just started to want to move around on her bum and we can see that it won't take her long to be off, she's just discovered what her feet are for - endless bouncing, anyone?

Try to relax and remember every child developes at their own pace.

my dd (8 months) crawled at 5 months now taking a few steps unaided but doesn't/ didn't roll...lol i guess they just do what they feel like...
Also ds crawled and walked early but NEVER sat up he just used to fall forward and crawl...he's five now and very capable to sit but still rarely sits still..
I was constantly worried with my first and to be honest by the time they are 2 most children are doing the same anyway. ..:)
