Clingy 10mo - a phase?

DS has been a bit clingy; it's not like him, he's independent to a fault usually. Having said that, he does seem to sometimes get engrossed in something and then when he hears/sees me again, starts grizzling!

He's got a snotty cold - could this be triggering the grizzling/clinging? Or is it separation anxiety?

Probably a bit of both, if he feels crap he just wants you to cuddle him and the reassurance of knowing where you are. He'll soon be skipping off without you happily and then you'll be the one feeling distraught - enjoy the experience, you are the number one person in his world!

I really wouldnt worry, ds is generally very independent but has gone through several 'clingy' phases, and so have most of his friends although not always at the same ages! It makes sense if he's not feeling 100% he'll want more attention from you...even at uni I remember wanting to go home whenever I was poorly!
