my ds won't eat bread!
soooooo restricting to find him items for a quick tea!
Nursery always dish up sandwiches for tea which he doesn't eat.....and he needs to be eating as he is on the lean side.

what everyday things will your dc not eat, and does anyones dc now eat the everyday things they once refused?

peas
chicken nuggets
tomatoes (unless ketchup, and then only 1 son)
makes children's meals a nightmare.

My half Asian DS (aged 2) will not eat rice. He doesn't like milk, cake or ice cream.

resistanceisfutile · 01/09/2010 23:35

egg
cheese / cheese spread
milk
mushrooms

Ds, nearly 7, has never been keen on bread or potatoes. He is almost phobic about butter, cannot abide it. He doesn't like cream either.

He would eat meat and fish and vegetables all day long if he could. Funny child.

DD 7.10 yrs
Hates tomatoes and baked beans.
Also will only eat eggs scrambled and then only at teatime . (she says they are not breakfast food) Confused

bostonfall · 02/09/2010 06:44

Nameymcnamechange - my ds is your son's polar opposite with regards to butter and cream, if he can get away with it he will eat butter portions straight from the foil, and for puddings he's been known to come back with a bowl full of cream and no actual dessert!!

Things DD will eat are few are far between, meat in breadcrumbs but not meat meat. Bread, pasta, rice, noodles, fish, octopus, squid, prawns and whelks, fried potato. Things she won't eat - apples, pears, bananas, tuna, mashed or boiled potato, tomatoe, cucumber, in fact virtually no fruit or veg. She does love mango and rambutan but they aren't readily available. She doesn't like food with a sauce or with lumps in (no yoghurts for her) nor does she like normal childrens food. She is a sod.

ds1 (4.4) won't eat most everyday items. Will not eat potatoes or rice under any circumstances.

ds2 (2.6) eats most things but not peaches and nectarines or custard.

LoisWillkerson · 02/09/2010 09:17

DD1- Spaghetti
DD3-Cheese
DD4-Beans.

Have you tried pitta? I know a child that won't eat bread, but loves pitta (the texture is quite different). If it works you could send pitta into nursery for him to eat when the others have sandwiches.

nymphadora · 02/09/2010 09:22

Dd2 v fussy but potato is probably the main awkward thing! She doesn't like chocolate either!

MrsTittleMouse · 02/09/2010 09:24

Potatoes.
Not even chips.
I mean, seriously, what kind of toddler will eat broccoli, but not chips? Confused

sockmonkey · 02/09/2010 09:36
