DS is almost 5 months and now just pulling the dummy out most of the time.... so have bitten the bullet and put him to bed without it... so far he is sucking his muslin and grumbling a bit, but no screaming yet... great... BUT what do I do if he wakes in the might just shh/pat him back to sleep... usually wakes maybe once for dummy at about 5am...

Has anyone done it at this age? how long did it take before they were ok without it??

I take it he's not breast fed. (For I would have just breast fed, and he would have gone back to sleep)

I don't know..let me know in the morning! Grin

oooh good luck, wish i had done it at this age rather than facing it now (DS 2yrs).

I would say shush pat sounds like a plan.

Let us know how it goes

When on medication, and couldn't BF..I gave dummy!..Shush pat sounds perfect..but if you get desperate, would you consider using dummy only for night time?
