My dd since the day she has been born has always been crying/whining/moody/in a strop of some sort. She basically spends most of the day not happy.

But now that shes 7 months old and more mobile they feel like temper tantrums.

The more i try and console her the worse she seems to get.

She has a sort of day and bedtime routine but wont go to sleep easy for naps or bedtime.

Im so fed up and now im beinging to dread each day that i have to be alone with her.

Any advice?? Your experiences? How to discipline? any suggestions? what do i do???? Help

She sounds over tired to me. My DD and DS are monsters when they do not get enough sleep.

Have you read this book? I found it very helpful. Once I begun working at getting them to sleep better, their behaviour improved.

She's very young though still, so a lot of the ideas I would suggest such as time out, she's too young for I think. I suspect a lot of it is purely due to tiredness. Sometimes if my children are hungry they also are more likely to throw tantrums. Try and work on the routine for food and naps and bedtime slowly and hopefully things will improve.

Try distraction for tantrums where possible. Such as "oh look at the window at x,y,z etc" Or take for a walk to calm in the buggy etc. If necessary imo?

Saira have you looked at her diet? she maybe intolerant to wheat or dairy you can get good substitutes for both.

HI ppeatfruit, her diet is fine I dont think she is intolerant to any new foods ive been introducing.

Hi Teaandcakeplease, I think sleep can be an issue, but i always put her down when i notice she is getting tired (but then she gets even more annoyed that ive layed her in her cot). However even after a good nap or a whole nights sleep she can still be whiny once she wakes up!!!

I'm guessing it's probably a combination of inability to crawl (or if she's just strted and not very good yet, frustration that she can't get places fast enough) and teething.

It's a really tough time, full of new things and frustrations.
