DD 14m is still not standing or cruising

Is this anything to be worried about? All the other similarly-aged babies we know seem to be doing this, and some younger ones are as well. She only starting crawling properly around 11-12m, and now loves it, getting everywhere at super-speed, maybe no motivation to try anything else yet?

She likes it if we hold her to stand, or hold her while she holds on to something, she definitely weight-bears, but seems to be nowhere near doing it herself. She's trying to pull up on stuff but can't really get further than her knees, sometimes she gets to one knee and gets a foot up with other leg but that's it so far. I'm fed-up with people asking if she's walking!

I'm off to get her and me dressed etc. now but will be back later. TIA!

The fact that she can bear weight is a good sign.

I wouldn't worry too much as she is crawling and as you say may have little motivation.

They all develop at different rates. My sister and my DH didn't walk until 2 and they both seem ok Smile.

If she's still not walking by 18 months you could always see the HV for a chat.

DD talked early but did not show signs of moving till she was ready, rarely standing, cruising or wanted to be walked around holding hands. Was just not interested.

At 19 months she just got up and walked. I nearly fainted.

Try not to worry Smile

Thanks Smile. I guess we should just be patient and she'll do it when she's ready. This morning I did put her to stand holding on to a chair while I was directly behind but not holding her and she could do that, so hopefully it won't be too long. I'm not worried about not walking at 14m, but thought she would be standing by now.

My DS is just 17 mths and crawled at 13 mths. We thought he was way off walking until yesterday when he pulled himself up on his walker (VTech thing) and started walking. And then stood and clapped at himself when we picked ourselves up and gave him a round of applause. They do it in their own time, I guess Wink

Hiya. My DD didn't stand till 15 months, she didn't pull up till she was 17 months, and then walked at 19 months.

Think you are right about having no motivation as she is a great crawler. My DD never crawled but bum shuffled instead and obviously felt that this was a perfectly good way to get about as had no desire to get up on her feet.

It can feel odd when everyone else's babies are standing and walking, but she'll get there

Dd2 showed no interest at all in standing or walking until she was 16 months old and then she literally just got up and walked one day.

That's great TiredBoo!

So, maybe DD will just shock us one day Smile
