26mo and 6.5mo - To share a room yet??

We still have dd2 in with us - She is 6.5mo.

I am keen to move her into dd1's room. But, dd1 is a nightmare to get to sleep some nights and will really fight to fall asleep. And, in the mornings dd1 will wake at 6/6.30am and come in with us. Im worried that she will wake dd2 at this time.

But, I wonder if having dd2 in her room would make dd1 better at sleeping. My mum thinks she is jealous that dd2 is still in with us.

Any thoughts? I would have a monitor on so that if she was awake we would hear her!

My DD and DS2 shared a room from about this age or maybe DS2 was younger (gap ois 22mo tho).

It was fine, DS2 used to wake sometimes but never seemed to wake DD. I used to put the baby down first and then DD 30 mins later, after extra story or whatever, made her feel like big girl!

We put ds in with dd at around 9 months (2 year age gap), I thought it would be hard but was no bother. DS was fed and put down to sleep 30 mins before dd, then she had story and bed.
It's much harder now they go at the same time as the have such a carry on! Ds is 15 months and is such a naughty boy, thinks jumping up and down in his cot is hilarious Grin not for me though Hmm

I put my two ds's in at virtually the same age, my problem was slightly different in that I had wanted to keep ds2 in with me until he slept through the night but by 7 months he wasn't and was clearly waking up to have a chat and play with us as we were in the bed with him, so in with ds1 he went, there were no problems at all, ds2 is sometimes disturbed by ds1 and vice versa, but when ds2 is shouting and refusing to go to sleep ds1 just falls asleep through it all! I'm sure it will be fine, they sleep through loads more than you would think, plus maybe your dd1 is a bit jealous and so it could actually ease all problems you currently have!

Plus if she is not waking your dd2 by coming into the bedroom that she is asleep in it is unlikely she will wake he by leaving her in a bedroom asleep - (unless of course she cries for you to go and get her?)
