anyone's 3 yr old struggled with preschool?

My 3 yr old is very spirited (to say the least) and very boisterous. We have had some tough times with him, but he is gradually getting calmer. I am so worried how he is going to get on at preschool (which is part of his school). Anyone else had these worries and how have they got on?

DS1 is "spirited" too. He's been at pre-school for a year and a half and they describe him as "lively" but seem very fond of him. They are really experienced at dealing with all kinds of children and I have found it very reassuring that they consider him at the lively end of normal - I actually asked them to monitor him and give me their opinion. We still have worries and I'm now anxious about how he'll get on at school - he turns 4 at the end of the month so will be the youngest in his year. Fingers crossed.
