Incredibly clingy DD (18 months)

Hi,

My DD went through a v. clingy phase at 13/14 months but then it passed after a few weeks. However, over the last week she has become incredibly clingy again to the point where she either has to be carried or have her hand held all the time. Nothing has changed with her day to day routine and we can't think of anything that has happened to prompt this. So I wondered if anyone else has experienced their toddler going through a similar clingy stage at this age and how long it lasted?

Thanks

Hi Teleaddict, my DD is 17 months and has been the same for the last week or so. However i do find that usually when she has a phase like this there is an underlying reason e.g. she's feeling a bit under the weather. I suspect this time it might be teeth. I don't know if this is of any help but whenever it's happened in the past it has passed quite quickly. Fingers crossed it does for you, it gets a bit wearing after a while doesn't it? (Although I am Envy that yours is walking - my DD is late on that front due to earlier hip problems so I'm having to do a lot of carrying, ouch.

Thanks for replying DCT. She does have a little bit of a cold so maybe that explains it. It is a nightmare carrying them all the time at this age isn't it when they are so heavy! She only started walking a couple of weeks ago and then your back starts aching from the bending over to hold their hands!!
