Flat Head Pillow Users

Hi,

I have been using a goi goi / lilla kuddis pillow in DS's cot since he was about 4 months old (at recommendation of cranial osteopath). It's firmly tucked under his sheet.

He has now started rolling and moving quite a lot in his cot and i'm unsure whether or not to remove it. He cannot get trapped underneath it as it is under the sheet.

The osteopath has recommended we continue to use it until he is 12 months old as the skull is still taking shape until then.

However, he now wakens when-ever he rolls off the pillow which means we need to go and reposition him during naps and night-time.

Is the rolling about in the cot just a passing phase? He is just over 7 months old and seems determined to crawl soon (has just worked out how to go backwards).

Am wondering if I should just remove the pillow now as it might be becoming a sleep prop for him or should I just leave it? He is also starting nursery next month so won't have it there for naps (but lots will be different to home so am sure he will adapt).

Thanks Pie xx

I used a goi goi with dc3 and removed it around about this time I think as I was having similar problems at night when ds rolled off it. I then put it in his pram so that he could still use it when we were out during the day.

Think we might give it a week and see if this 'phase' passes! Difficult in having to think about his head shape versus him waking up more often!
