Erm, shouldn't the doctor be speaking to YOU as the parent - seems a lot for a 4 year old to have to take on board. Your questions might be why ? When ? what will happen ? Can I be there with her ? What will the possible consequences of this be ?

Is this a case of a well meaning doctor trying to "scare" a child out of certain behaviour...ie, "you must stay in bed at night otherwise we'll have to send you to the sleep lab"...might work for some children, might ramp up the anxiety for others.

Thank you... but I just thought someone maybe able to let me know how it was for them as they have been through it. We live in Vietnam at the moment and will go to Singapore for the test.

This is not a well meaning doctor trying to "Scare" her into sleeping. This is a doctor trying to get to the bottom of 4 years of not sleeping properly, we have tried controlled crying etc and 2 sleep consultants later think it is time to see if there is anything medically wrong..in conjunction with an ENT doctor.

I do think you won't find many people on here who will thnk this is a good idea-what on earth are they testing for?
