Hi

I have a gorgeous ds of 10weeks who is an angel in the day. However at night he seems to have an issue with sleep. Its not that he wants to be awake but it seems that his tummy/wind is waking him up. For the past two nights we've been up every hour if not more. He is eating every 4hours through the day and night and seems to be quite content with that. A doctor has advised that he has mild reflux - but i'm a bit doubtful as he's never sick and seems to eat ok, but he is woken by a tummy ache or chronic trapped wind. We've propped his cot up - any other advice? Would love to hear any tit bits of information or if anyone has the same problem or had the same problem. Thanks so much.

although none of these helped ds with his reflux other things to try would be
vary position he feeds in
wind often during a feed
offer pacifier
clockwise tummy massage and cycling of legs to help dispel wind and pain
Otherwise I would do the do the wrap baby tightly, face away from you, pat gently and shhh loudly ie baby whisperer advice for settling lo to sleep, hth.

It sounds like he may have silent relflux, where they are not sick, but still have the awful acid burning of the oesophagus. I would try everything that yawningmonster has suggested, and it might be worth giving your ds something like infant gaviscon, maybe just at night.

Just thinking about what the doctor said, it seems odd that your DS is an angel by day if he is very troubled by reflux at night. After all unless he's terrifically advanced, at this age he's probably spending plenty of time lying down when awake, too.
Or is he always propped up in his chair?
How does he nap during the day?
