Is there anything I can do to help him crawl.....?

DS is 7 months. He's been rolling around for a while. He can get up on to all fours and rock backwards and forwards. His knees then collapse under him, he rolls over and cries. He's getting really frustrated.

I'm not in any real rush to have him moving around but the constant whineing and crying is driving me mad.

Is there anything I can do to encourage him ?

Can you roll a small towel and place it under his chest to support him a bit? Or how about a skateboard?

Have you a wooden floor? When we got a big rug dd took off, it provided more grip I think

A skateboard could work

We do have wooden floors but have a big rug and he is much better on that but still not getting anywhere (but at least it doesn't hurt him when he does collapse and roll over !)

Me and DD have been crawling round the room to "show" him what to do. I hope no one was looking through our window

I second the towel idea.

I did this to help dd2 (she was a lot older though - 11 months) as she was so frustrated with getting up on all fours and not quite getting moving. She crawled on the second day of using the towel.

She could well have crawled the next day anyway though as she was very nearly there. It certainly didn't harm though ...

Thank you all. Will give the rolled up towel a go
