I take it it's normal for children to dislike combinations of foods which they love separately.

DD (14 months) loves cheese, rice and tomatoes so tonight I did roasted peppers stuffed with the above. She at least deigned to try a spoonful but promptly spat it out and refused to have any more.

Normal yes?

Or is it a horrible combination? I thought it was quite nice.

Sounds yummy. Think they get a bit fussy at this age sometimes.

Sounds normal to me. DD 2.9 loves scrambled egg and toast but will not eat egg on toast. Similary, she loves pasta and cheese but won't eat pasta in a cheese sauce.

Can I come for dinner at yours btw because that sounds yummy!

Oh yes... the old 'mixed up food' situation. My DS loves mashed potatoes, minced beef, carrots and peas as separate foods. But it was a devil of a job convincing him that 'Cottage Pie' would be a nice thing to eat. LOL! (He has since decided that it is)

Oh I remember the " Don't let the different food touch " stage. Everything had to have it's own personal space.....and then Grandad poured gravy over it all !!!!! Meltdown of toddler much to Grandad's bemusement.

Peppers have a strong taste I hate them and i'm a bit older than yr Dc. My DD ate v. little at 14mon. she is a strong 30yr old now who loves food.

ppeat - I didn't even try my luck giving her the peppers - just the filling!

I'm glad it's something she might grow out of.

She's started eating cheese on toast rather than cheese and toast so maybe there's hope for her
