DD has started to stand on her own for a few seconds... how long will it be before she starts to walk?

Well my DD could only stand for a very few seconds when she started walking. The two skills developed together, so I guess it could be any time.

whereas my DS just kinda stood there for a good two months (not continuously ) before he walked the walk.

ds did it same day - walked first ! dd took about 6 weeks between , standing first.

Ds1 stood alone for about 2-3 months! Ds2 mastered both within a couple of days.

My DD took about a month. DS took about 2 days.

There really is no rule for these things!

My DD walked quite a while before she could stand alone! She would just project herself from one side of the room to the other. CakeCuresAll is spot on!!

DD took over a month. I eventually just told her to move her feet during one of her prolonged standing in the middle of the room sessions and she did
That was a week ago and she's now getting across the room quite happily. I do wonder if she'd still be standing there if I hadn't told her what she needed to do!

My sister was apparently running - with no stopping mechanism - at 8 months but not standing until she was 1. My poor mum.

DD stood alone two months ago and has just got around to walking.

Thank you! It would just be cool if she took her first steps before her birthday in 3 weeks!

My DD stood on her own and was walking confidently within days. She had walked with toys for 3-4 months but just needed to work on her balance to go it alone.
