Baby Crying When Stimulated

Hello - my DD is 13 weeks - over the last few weeks she has started to respond very well to me talking to her and reading stories etc, she smiles, occassionally grines and sometimes gives out excite squeals whilst doing this. Over the last few days however a few times when i have stared speaking to her directly she has half smiled and then started crying, other times she is just like before ie very happy with the attention? Is this normal - its worrying me as feels like she doesnt want attention from me.

Take your lead form her. She may be going through a "processing" phase and doesn't need any new input for a while. She may be tired, and just want cuddles - I think sometimes they need their mum to be soft and cushion-y, not all singing and all dancing and educating!

Have some quiet peaceful days and see how she is. But please don't worry - it's SOOOO easy to over think things at this stage.

Babies have their moods and feelings of tired/happy/cross/sleepy/want to play etc etc. Your baby is only letting you know when she cries that she isn't in the mood for a story at that time, maybe just wants to be quiet or have a lie down or a play on her mat/in her chair or just a quiet cuddle.

Don't take it personally
