Gymbabes - is it worth the money ?

DD is 6 months old and very eager to be up and about (she is already trying to crawl). There is a Gymbabes session within an easy walk of our house and i wondered if anyone has taken their baby to one and what they thought - also what they do in the sessions as there isn't much info on the website

I took my son to a gymtastic class which I am guessing is similar when he was about 18 months ish and I would say that it was definitely worth the money at that age.

However at 6 months I am not sure if that is a bit early ??

Personally I would leave it until when they are walking and can get more out of it.

Not so sure at that age.

My DD2 has been going to a gymnastics class (at an established gymnastics club, rather than a gymntots type thing) since she was 15 months, and I think you can see the benefits she has got from it.

She is actually a very timid and reticent child who does not like to try new things. If she started gymnastics now, there's no way she would go near the beam or bars. Yet at 3 1/2, she can confidently walk along the beam alone, do simple tasks on the high bars and so on. She can also do handstands (although not great ones), bunny hops and she is beginning to learn to skip.

I'd say pre school gymnastics classes are definitely worth it, but at 6 months? Probably a waste of money then.

I took my DS from 6 months and to be honest it was a bit of waste. Since he was about 10 months and confidently crawling it has been better but before that he mostly only liked the singing at the beginning and end which you can do for free at Rhyme Time in the library. I woud wait a term - maybe start in october or Jan - don't let them scare you into signing up with talk of waiting lists either
