Hi, i am a mum of twin boys aged 4. i was reading the thread " Is this normal for a nearly 4 year old" with interest. DS1 behaves in exactly the same way as the children in this thread, ie bossy, cheeky, disobedient etc. This seems to be very normal from what I have read. Whilst I dont want DS2 to become a monster too, I wonder if perhaps it would be more normal for him to behave a bit more like his brother, ie testing the boundaries, giving more cheek etc. He has his moments and certainly makes his feelings felt but he is more mild mannered than his brother and in general is more obedient and less cheeky. Are there any 4 year olds out there that are not behaving like teenagers?

My ds never behaved in that way and he is normal. It may have helped that he'd been in nursery full time since he was 3 though.

Sounds like "good cop/badcop"!

Maybe he doens't need to behave "badly" as his brother does it for him? Maybe he is just different. If they were a year apart would you be concerened if one was behaving differently to how the other had at that age? It must be more obvious being twins.

I've just one DS age 4 and he goes through stages - I wish he had a good twin at times! Then again I wish I had a good twin!

I would't read too much into it tbh. They are prob just different.

Think it is probably just a difference in their personalities. My DS is fairly much testing the boundaries but he has a friend of the same age (4.5) who is fairly mild mannered and easy going, curious about life but not pushing the limits IYSWIM. His younger sister (only 16 months younger) is far harder work for his monther.
