Yesterday my 21 month old came off one off his ride on toys, I don't think he really hurt himself but I think it really scared him. He cried and I obviously picked him up. He cried out all his breath and it sort of looked like his eyes looked up and his arms went back and stiff. I really thought he was having a fit, but then he took a massive breath in and started crying again. This scared the living daylights out of me, he was fine within about 3 mins and off playing on it again. I can't get it out of my mind and I spoke to my childminder this morning and she said he fell over on the grass once and did the same, it's as if he screams all his breath out until he nearly passes out and then takes another breath in. She said she even had to bloww in his face to make him breath again. Within a few mins he's calmed down and off playing again as if nothing has happened
Has anyone else had anything similar or should I worry?

Not something I've personal experience of but my friend's daughter was similar when she was smaller (now a 14yearold)... several times when she fell she would stop breathing momentarily - long enough to scare friend something rotten ! .. but ok now - grew out of it...

My DS does it I think my DS did it when she was smaller. My son also when he laughs alot doesn't breathe goes a blue then sometimes when he gets his first breathe gags and is sick. Scares me to death.

Thank you all for that, I have also spoke to a few friend about it and a few have had similar with their DC. I will just keep an eye on him and try not to get too freaked out when it happens.
