nearly all day long every day for the last week! If she's not scampering around on all fours, she's roaring at the top of her voice saying I'm a scary lion and adopting a whole new voice for when she's talking.

Please reassure me that other households have 'animals' living them and that its just a phase that will pass. Its honestly starting to do my head in now!

My son is, in turn, a dinosaur, a crocodile, a ghost, a train (this one for hours), and - my personal favourite - a penguin. He does the same croaky voice for all of them.
I either love or hate it depending on how tired i am. Sigh.

Is a 'little sod' a type of animal?

MajorPettigrew · 22/07/2010 21:20

Dinosaur in my house.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL DAY.

I'm trying to get her to be a mouse, but she's not buying it

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2010 21:23

Yes DS is a regularly a lion (when he's not being Superman, and we have to call him "Superman" too, or he doesn't reply)

The other day he was hiding under the bed shouting "RAAAAAAAAAAAR I'm a lion!"
I pointed out that lions probably don't hide under beds as they are strong and brave.
"Yes we do" came the reply from under the bed.
Then I asked what lions ate for breakfast - rice crispies?
"No, carrots"
"Carrots and crispies?"
"No, just carrots"

oh thank god I'm not alone! DD did say this evening that she was a fairy - just momentarily mind - but then proceeded to jump all over the place.

yep, we too have had a 'doggie' a dinosaur, and a tiger living with us. Why do they do it?!!

I just put a little dog to bed. It is wearing after a while isn't it.

colditz · 22/07/2010 21:38

I have a Giant Dinosaur That Eats People, Mummy.

DilysPrice · 22/07/2010 21:39

DS was a duck for several months.

colditz · 22/07/2010 21:39

my four year old has never seen Superman in his life, nevertheless - he knows to 'punch' one hand in front of him and yawp "Superman!" as he whooshes past.

notnowbernard · 22/07/2010 21:43

I'd rather an animal than a baby...

Now that's irritating

MissWooWoo · 22/07/2010 21:44

Mine alternates between RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR I'm a dinosaur/lion and a rather quiet and floaty toothfairy/princess. I blame Peppa Pig.

OgreRebel · 22/07/2010 21:45

DD is the whole zoo.

And occasionally a scarecrow.

Yesterday she was grass. Grass is quiet. Gets under your feet though.

CMOTdibbler · 22/07/2010 21:46

DS (4) is mostly a pony, but also a kitten, a Poweranger (he's never seen anything to do with them at all), and often a puppy too

PerArduaAdNauseum · 22/07/2010 21:46

I had a dog for at least 6 months. But IIRC Clement Freud was a rolls royce for much of his childhood so it could have been worse...

Dysgu · 22/07/2010 22:00

I have a puppy quite a lot of the time - it requires walks and trips to the vets! The real nuisance is it likes to lick my face! This puppy is nearly 4 and can be lots of other things too - most of the time it is fine but I usually draw the line at requests to walk on all fours along the street!

SylvanianFamily · 23/07/2010 09:52

We're generally pirates, with variety happening with whether we,re bad pirates or good pirates...
