tantrums at 6months?

my 26week old ds is so attention seeking.
when hes not asleep all he does is cry, no matter what i do he cries, if im not giving him constant attention he cries, even if i take him everywhere i go, he still cries.

i check everything like if he needs changing, to hot/cold, bored, to light/dark, to noisy/quiet etc. nothing is up with him because he stops and starts again, if im out the room, he calms down and then starts again when i come back in the room!

sometimes it gets that bad hes screaming house down, making himself cough. when i pick him up, he continues to cry or pushes me away. if you've ever watched supernanny, the children who are having crying tantrums, he sounds like that.

iv read online that 6month olds can have temper tantrums, how do i deal with him when hes like this?

at the moment im letting him cry until he gets fed up but its getting me down now, im becoming really depressed
help!

Have you taken him to a doctor? It doesn't sound like a temper-tantrum, to be honest. Does he get plenty of sleep? Does he enjoy his food? Is he growing at a reasonable speed? It's very unusual for a baby to scream when mum enters the room... more normal to happen in reverse. I'd ask your GP for some advice.

I agree it doesn't sound like temper. How's weaning been going?

Perhaps it's worth mentioning to your HV or GP but also worth reading this.
