DD is 23 months. She isn't a picky eater in the slightest and will eat almost anything but actually eats almost nothing! She's so busy all the time and the days when we get 1 good meal or 2 fair ones into her are a success!!!!

But she will drink gallons and gallons of milk............

please tell me this is just a phase.

That said my older daughters and myself are also milk drinkers arghhhhhhh

My DGD is the same. They do not actually need many calories when you are that small. So she is getting what she needs from the milk. The dietician said she needs 21 calories per pound of body weight so she only needs 450 calories. She said we should restrict her to one pint of milk per day and give water at other times. She is not keen.

Have you tried making things more creamy or milky?

Don't worry it is normally just a phase, if she isn't asking for food or losing weight she is probably getting enough into her at the moment, you could try some new mealtime techniques but i'm not sure this is the problem.

See how she goes for the next few months and if she is either staying the same weight but growing or losing weight then go to see your GP or paediatrician and they may send you to see a nutritionalist if there is any problems or will give you support themselves.

Good luck but try not to be too worried it is very normal!
