How much milk and sleep in a 6/7 wk old????

I know there is no such thing as an 'average' baby, but I'd be interested to see how your 6/7 week olds are doing on the sleep and feeding fronts.Mine seems no better on a night now than she was when we first brought her home, and I was hoping that she'd be sleeping for a longer stretch on a night by now. She's clearly too little to be 'through the night,' but I was hoping that she'd drop one of her night feeds. She's bottle fed.

On that front, how much are yours taking? Again, mine was born hungry and was taking 4 oz a feed from the get go. But she's still only taking that now or sometimes 3 oz, every 3 hours.

I was wondering if I should up the teat to the 3 month plus size - as I was wondering if she's just tired of working so hard to get her milk! Maybe if she feeds a bit better during the day, she will settle down a bit on a night!

What do you all think?

mine fed 3 hourly night and day at that age. Is she falling asleep/taking ages to feed on the slower teat? If not then the teat flow should be ok for now. You dont want her taking it too fast and choking/taking in too much wind. 3 hourly in normal at this age (in my experience anyway)

My DD2 will be 7 weeks on Monday.

She is also bottle fed and takes between 3 and 4 ozs every 3-4 hours. She is on the newborn teats because she suffers with wind quite badly but she doesn't seem to have to try to hard to actually take the milk. She starts of gulping like she's never been fed before but soon settles down.

WRT sleep, DH is a late bird, so tends to do the late night feed anytime up to 2am. I'll do the next one 3-4 hours later and by that time, it's time to get up anyway to get DD1 ready for school and DS ready to go to the CM. On the odd night that I do the late night feed, I have found it easier sleeping on the sofa tbh because then I can just jump up and sort her out rather than dragging myself out of my nice warm bed...

I think, going by my DD2 that your's sounds just about right

Hmm, my 6 wo wakes every 2 to 2.5 hours (if we're lucky) and is taking around 4oz. Was worried he was having too much but HV confirmed okay and he is a huge baby and getting bigger by the minute (9.5lbs at birth)
Hopefully, he'll start sleeping a bit longer in one stretch soon...
