Rosen for a boy?

Any thoughts on this name? I really like it but my husband thinks he might be called Rosie - not good for a boy!!

Also, can anyone think of any nice nature names for boys. I really like Forest and River but they wouldn't be right with our surname.

Sorry, I don't like Rosen. I wouldn't have thought of roses, so the nature element didn't work for me.

As for nature names I'm not personally recommending any of these, I don't like all of them,they're just what comes to mind...

Yes, you are quite right - I did ask for my last message to be withdrawn. My children do have unusual names which I, and many others, love.

Rosen is not a "surname as first name" that appeals to me. Sorry.

Isn't it german for pink? I know a guy sur name rosenstock and it literally means pink stink which was a name given by nazis I think.

ok - enough bad feedback to decide it's a no-goer. Especially after the comment about German for pink/Nazi connotations. Thank you for your help. None of the above names really grab although I quite like Caspian. I also like Eden a lot and Lindon (actually I love Landon) but hubby doesn't like them. Oh well, twelve more weeks to decide : )

No, in German:

pink = rosarot or rosa

a rose = eine Rose

Stock = stick

Rosenstock would therefore translate into stick of roses. Nothing to do with Nazis imo.!!

agree with bigblue - the surname Rosenstock has nothing to do with nazis whatsoever. Don't know how anyone would come up with that one!

Well that somebody clearly does not know German very well at all .

To the op: Rosen is the plural of rose in German, so Rosen = roses (not a good name for a boy ).
