Changing babie's names

i don't like my daughters middle names, or her first name but it's too late to change that i feel. she's coming up to a year and in the uk it's legal to change it although they require proof of the name being used...even a middle name? My ex chose her names and now he's left us i'm left with a feeling of resentment for letting him chose names i thought were just ok at the time but now i really don't like.

Her middle names are Sofia (too trendy and not at all my taste) and Phoenix (too eccentric and not my taste, he chose it for the meaning but surely anastasia would be a better substitute as it has the same meaning of ressurection.)

I wanted to call her Aurora and weirdly enough when she was born the first present she was given by someone who didn't know this was a teddy bear called Aurora. But i still chose to use the name he chose!! I also love the name Aurelia because it sounds very dignified, and of course Anastasia.

So,
Which name would you replace and with what?
Sophia or Phoenix?
With Aurora, Aurelia, or Anastasia

Or just change her first name? Which might be too confusing for her.

Well, I know how you feel as my x dictated my children's names. It's probably the reason I'm still loitering about on a name board years later.

He chose both of my dd's names. I just have to accept that.

Personally I think Aurora is a bit Disney and hard to say, so I'd suggest Aurelia instead of Sofia.

first name Aurelia Phoenix. I think two names ending in -ia would sound odd.

I am starting to use my sur name as well as my x's. I just write it on forms and on the stickers I put on their school books. Their legal name is still just their father's sur name, but it helps me let go of that 'not fair' feeling.

I know a little girl called Aura which is along the same lines(ish).

Or you could go for Aurelie, then you could keep either of Sofia or Phoenix (or both, although I think Aurelie Sofia works best).
