What do you think of the name Cosmo - aside form the fact it is the same as the magazine (I don't read it so it wont be hanging around here!).
It probably does not work with other dc's but I find it rather charming, it was very nearly ds2' name, and I think i still rather like it.

I like it as a name, but will always associate it with Les Dawson and Cosmo Smallpiece. Sorry.

CheerfulYank · 03/07/2010 18:47

It was the name of the crazed Seinfeld character, so I'm a little put off by it. But just as a name it's not too bad.

love it

tummytickler · 03/07/2010 18:52

Oh - I liked Seinfeld - I forgot about Cosmo Kramer!

I used to like it until I met a small cosmo who was a particular menace.

coffeefestival · 03/07/2010 19:24

I don't like it I'm afraid, sorry.

suspiria · 03/07/2010 21:06

It makes me think of Cosmo Kramer as well.I love the name it's quite cool

janeite · 03/07/2010 21:08

I don't like it, sorry. It was the name of a particularly irritating child with indulgent parents, who ran around our local coffee shop a lot and got in the way of the staff.

mathanxiety · 03/07/2010 21:22

I like Cosimo better.

BessieBoots · 03/07/2010 21:35

Not keen.

CuppaPimmsJanice · 03/07/2010 21:38

It's the name of our local 'all you can eat' restaurant. I threw up in the toilets there when I was pregnant.

Also it's the name of the crazy cat that lives next door to my parents.

coffeefestival · 03/07/2010 22:05

How about Corin, Nicholas or Jacob?

foreverastudent · 04/07/2010 10:22

I like it. Will probably chicken out and only use it as a middle name though.

Not to my personal taste.

The story line from Seinfeld is that Kramer was always known as Kramer because he was so embarrassed by his first name (Cosmo), which only came out several series in.

But - if you like it, go for it.

ilovesprouts · 04/07/2010 13:24

i know a cosmo ..but changed his name now

ValiumSingleton · 04/07/2010 14:29

What about Costi? I prefer Costi to Cosmo, but maybe that is only because I knew a Costi who was half Irish and half Greek and he was rather handsome. Costi isn't a crazy character from Seinfeld or a magazine either so it has that going for it.

Gorgeous. There was a Cosmo on my course at uni who was lovely - very arty.

CornishKK · 05/07/2010 00:08

I like Cosmo but it does remind me of Cosmo & Dibs from You & Me - early 1970's anyone?!

1footinfront · 05/07/2010 00:10

The kids programme was "Cosmo and Dibs"

I dont really like it at all, sorry OP!

nooka · 05/07/2010 02:52

I would have been called Cosmo if I had been a boy. All I can say is I am incredibly glad I wasn't!

gillybean2 · 05/07/2010 03:02

Isn't cosmo a cat in some story or kids tv series...

laura0007 · 05/07/2010 08:59

i love this name.....my fantasy children are called Cosmo and Tallulah!!

Teapot13 · 05/07/2010 09:21

I'm surprised by the negative reactions -- I would have thought it would be more popular. I like it.
