Using DD1's middle name as first name for DD2??

One of our DD1's middle names is Maisy (she has two middle names) would it be strange/confusing to call DD2 Maisy? We're really struggling to find a name we like and due date is in 4 weeks. Also what do people think of Poppy?

i wouldnt use first kiddies middle name as second kiddies first name.

Me and my 2 sisters all have the same middle name if you want to give them the same middle name though?

I love the name Poppy but not sure how well it would work on an older person, it's a lovely name for a little girl though. Is there a longer name you could use and use the nickname Poppy?

I personally wouldn't use your DD's middle name as a first name for your next child, you would hate her to think of it as 'second hand' if you know what i mean. Although Maisy is a gorgeous name, how about Daisy as an alternative? Poppy is also a lovely name and i think it will work well throughout her life. I also know a maisie and a maisy, Maisie has two sisters called Alice and Phoebe, and Maisy has a twin sister called Ivy if that is any help to you??? Love Poppy though very cool name

Oooh I really wouldn't. I know it's not the same, but a friend called her dd3 the two middle names of the other dds (so as the dd3's first and middle name) and the dd3 is resentful about not having a name 'of her own.'

No I wouldn't either. Love Poppy it was my choice for DS (thought he was going to be a girl, and due on armistace (sp) day on 11 November, so thought it would be nice.

I like Poppy better than Maisie (which is lovely for a little girl but might not work for an adult). I think Poppy works for an adult, even in a business type environment where you want to be taken seriously. Poppy Montgomery the actress always springs to mind for me - not in a bad way! It makes it more of an adult name for me than say Maisie.

My daughter's middle name is Clare, and I adore Clara as a name but it's right out for any future daughters (as is Clarissa, also a favourite). It's taken, you've used it up, sorry.

Agree that Poppy doesn't work on an older person, but you could use Penelope and nn Poppy I think?

Penelope nn is Penny or Nell, which I love btw. Poppy is simply Poppy, and very nice, although extreamely popular in my area.

I would have to agree not to use DD1 middle name for DD2 I'm afraid, there are so many other names out there give the poor thing one of her own.

I have done this. There was no other name I loved as much. In fact DS1's middle name is the name I love most of all but only gave it as his middle name as he is named after my dad.

I figure it doesn't actually matter that they 'share' a name as how often does your middle name crop up? My sister has a middle name but I can't think of a time I've had to mention it to someone so can't see it being a problem for my DS's.
