My dd is now 14 months old. When she was born we couldn't decide on a name until she was 6 weeks old. I then changed her middle name on her birth certificate when she was 4 months old. My family laughed at me for being so indecisive and still like to laugh about it all now.

The problem I have now is that I regret using the diminutive for her first name and would prefer her to have the full version for when she is older.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with being so indecisive about names? Is it quick and easy to change it by Deed Poll? I feel like I am the only person on the planet who is being scatty about her babies name and I'm embarrassed about it!

I don't know how easy it is to change a name, but don't feel scatty. Your baby is stuck with a name for life, you just want to get it right. Good luck.

I think uld easy to change her name by deed poll. I am a fellow name changer and changed DS's name on his birth certificate when he was 5 months old. I never liked the original name and should never have given in to DH. We just added a new name to the front, so DS now has 2 middle names.

There have been quite a few threads about this so you are definitely not the only one!
