Names too similar?

DS1 is called Cosmo (5). DS2 due in December. Is Caspar too similar a name? Worrying that together they might sound like pets?!

What else might you recommend?

I'm not fond of the 2 together, sorry.

How about Rupert, Vincent or Barnaby?

I quite like them together, though bear in mind that on paper they sound incredibly middle class. If that's the look you're going for, I suggest you look through the Times announcements, there's always some inspiration there

Eglu · 26/06/2010 16:42

I like both names, but not sure I'd put them together.

Meadowlarks thanks for reminding me I've not looked at the Times announcements for a while. I love doing that.

I know teenage brothers names Caspar and Cosmo, I don't think they sound odd together.

mildundleise · 26/06/2010 17:23

janeite: thanks but none of those really grab me.

meadowlarks: DS1 is already called Cosmo so there's not much I can do there! We liked it because it's a beautiful name. Caspar sounded good because DS2 will be a Christmas baby.

Eglu: exactly my dilemma!

Hedwig3: that's good to know.

Was toying with Miles, Alexander, Arthur and Hector as well. Max and Rex have also been suggested (by Cosmo himself!)

I like Caspar and think the two sound fine together.

LynetteScavo · 26/06/2010 21:02

They're fine together.

SherbetDibDab · 26/06/2010 21:02

I think Arthur is gorgeous and that works with Cosmo.

ilovethesummer · 26/06/2010 21:05

I don't think they sound too similar at all, they are lovely names and go very well together.

Of the other names you suggest, I like Hector and Arthur.

Good luck!
